"Gele vlaggen." Rotterdam, Holland.

As I said yesterday I am jumping back and forward in time, today is back again
in Rotterdam, where I painted with Alberto (see Thursdays posting)
We both painted the tug boats that where laying there.
He was just a few metres behind me, so you really can see the difference
in style and approach of our work and subject.

Do have a look > over there <

"Voor de boeg." Zutphen, Holland.

I am jumping a bit back and forward in time the last couple of days.
That's because I painted a lot this week, two a day, and traveled a lot
(for me that is) by train. so every day I was late at home and just
maneged to upload one, .... but the good part of this is that I can
upload through the weekend as well :-)

This one I made yesterday, a Sunny springy day in Zutphen.
Maybe a bit too complex, but once you've seen those boats in real
you're never gonna forget them, ...

Museumhaven Rotterdam, Holland.

The day before yesterday I met Alberto Valentini, an Italian painter
living here in Holland. We met on the Museum-harbour in Rotterdam, a great
site with all kinds of historical ships surrounded by enormously high high-tech
buildings, ... you could paint fore ever over there also because there are
enough locations to get something to drink or eat, hehehe

"Nibor." Arnhem, Holland.

Don't know what it is, but when I see a boat,
I have to look around if there is something to paint.

Here there was, although I removed almost everything behind the boat
to make it more interesting.

But hey that's possible with painting
so why not?!

(Nibor.) Oil on panel.

"Vijf op een rij." Velp, Holland.

Made this one Friday afternoon.
I saw it so often and always knew I gonna paint it someday.
It's quite a challenge because there is much to much to paint
and in real it's a bit larger that wouldn't work in the composition
so I cranked it all a bit. Gives a nice cartooning look though.

(Five in a row.) Oil on panel.

Wow, that was difficult to get started again after

again here in Holland.

This is a little one made in the floodplains of the Rhine,
I guessed it would be a nice start to get used to all the green again.

Effort form this morning, at first I was the only one
on the ice, with my MP3 player on what maybe
isn't a good idea after all because a girl came by
and started ice skating, but she gave it up because
the ice was cracking to much, ...

Could be a lesson?! ... Maybe one in the top 100 as well!
